CASA de Clementi, a residential project, starts with the need of a homeowner to improve the existing residential buildings which are two twin houses, but with a central court that separates the buildings from each other, to be able to connect the areas as if they were one and the same building. We propose a concept to add in the front and back with the balcony as a link, open walls which can receive wind throughout the year, suitable for the tropical climate of Singapore, where members of the houses can walk pass easily between them. The front of the building is made as a facade to partition between the outside and inside of the building.
The ground floor area is designed for activities that are shared between guests and members in the house, such as living room, games room, reception room, kitchen, wine cellar, and bar. Opening the area at the center of the building, in addition to helping on ventilation, also helps to rest your eyes with the garden view through the windows of all six bedrooms and view of the sky at night as well. The concept of that design, we want to present the story of coexistence between two generations in the family: the old generation including father and mother who are businessmen in engineering field through the design supplemented with identity of Chinese descent, beliefs and ways of living of and being a Singaporean citizen, inherited to the children (New Generation) through various innovations which drives Singaporeans to the highest prosperity, as well as an Internet of Thing technology to be used within the building, architectural design, interior decoration and landscapes that focus on sustainability, environment-friendly and user-friendly atmosphere.
